Catering Assistant - Nottinghamshire

Our client is a national law firm and have a vacancy for a Catering Assistant to work in their very modern, high tech kitchen/restaurant.

 

Purpose of the role

To provide a high quality client experience (internal and external) in line with the firms brand values and standards

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide catering service for No 44 and client lunches - breakfasts/hot & cold lunches/light refreshments throughout the day recording all purchases on the till
  • Responsible for the preparation of No44 and seminar area in line with policies and procedures
  • Assist in ensuring catering kitchen and reception drinks machine are maintained in accordance with H & S; food hygiene; COSHH etc. ensuring all regulations regarding temperature readings are taken and maintained
  • Assist with the ordering and stock control including stock levels on shelves, dealing with food wastage appropriately
  • Assist with the calls logged via the Service Desk and Condeco that require attention, ensuring that Service Level Agreements are adhered to and customers kept informed of the status of their call appropriately
  • Assist with the maintenance of menus and pricing ensuring the firms’ intranet reflects this
  • Supply food to reception for seminars etc. and deliver according to standards, policies and procedures. Ensure that communication between reception and catering is maintained
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of the card hospitality system – to charge back to departments
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post whenever necessary

 

Technical skills

  • NVQ level 2 in hospitality/catering or similar
  • Up to date Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Knowledge Microsoft office

 

Compliance

  • You will be expected to be familiar and compliant with the full range of regulatory policies and procedures including: equal opportunity and diversity, data protection and confidentiality/security, anti-bribery and anti-money laundering etc.
  • You will also be required to undertake mandatory compliance training as required

 

Person specification

As part of the front of house team, you would be expected to have the following skills and

experience:

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a fast pace kitchen/hospitality environment
  • Effective communicator, able to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst maintaining a positive team spirit at all times
  • Good organisational skills
  • A proactive, professional and flexible approach to work
  • Able to adopt a common sense approach with attention to detail
  • Keen to develop over a period of time with a willingness and ability to learn
